Apparently the drastically different Evangelion movie is playing in a movie theater near me.

Someone needs to learn them girls some choreography and some...I don't know, action shots?
Or maybe I'm too used to American music videos.

Yesterday after class I made my way out to Kotoni JR station to have a look around. Found Daiso, which is a famous hyakuen (100 yen) shop chain. It's even better than Dollar Tree.
I bought a hairbrush, a sponge set that when put together resembles a piece of cake, a writing pad, a pair of flat socks, and one more thing that I forgot.
Then I went to the grocery section of a department store and bought lemon-vinegar flavored kit kats, oreos, and bananas, chocolate shrooms.
I may have to go back to Daiso to pick up a banana holder.
Dinner last night was....well, interesting.
Tiny bowl of ramen, and rice (except the rice was white with a stripe of brown?), but accompanying the fish fillet were these purplish gray gelatinous triangles, gross tempura battered meat-stuffed vegetables (I felt like I was drinking grease), and this bowl of flavorless gelatinous....lumpy stuff.
Needless to say I only enjoyed the rice, most of the fish, the soup, and some of the tempura vegetables.
This morning I watched the MJ memorial clips on CNN.com, as I would have had to stay up past 2AM last night to watch it live online.
Breakfast was an egg, onions, soup, rice, other veggies, toast, and what I think was a chicken nugget.
It's been raining off and on since last night. I don't own an umbrella.

- Music:2,000 Watts - Michael Jackson
Mike can't get the third week in August off of work, and I didn't get an ADA scholarship. :(
Trying to stay positive. :(

I love MJ. I really do. But some of these memes are just so special that I can't not share them.

Michael Jackson died :(
I've loved his music since I was 3. I watched his Moonwalker video over, over, and over again when I was that age. My mom and I would listen to his CD's in the car ALL the time. No matter what one thinks about his issues, it's undeniable that he was extremely talented.
RIP :(

So I have these train tickets to Wakkanai and in the rules it stipulates that I must inform kanrinin-san of any overnight trips and provide emergency contact information. Not a big deal right? Makes perfect sense. Except I don't speak Japanese very well and he hasn't shown any competency in English.
So after trying to figure out which room he stays in and failing (I don't just want to barge into the room I THINK is his), I go to the lunch ladies in the kitchen and say "Sumimasen...doko wa Kanrinin-san desu ka?" They look at me a little funny but say he's here (I think they said Kanrinin-san, dozo" or something) and I just again say "Doko ka?", and one of them is kind enough to walk around and show me where he stays. I thank her profusely. She basically asks what I want him for and I say "Ashita, Wakkanai ni ryoko ni ikimasu." which is basically, I think, "Tomorrow, I am traveling to Wakkanai." I show her my train tickets. She gets it!
So she knocks on his door and he gets up, coming toward me. She walks away. He asks me what I want and as soon as I open my mouth to tell him, his frail tiny body collapses on the floor next to me. I say "HELP! HELP!" and run over to the kitchen. Said lady comes back and checks on him but by then he's somewhat sitting upright and keeps repeating "Daijoubu". I ask "Daijoubu ka??" and he keeps waving me off. He walks back inside and the lady, if I understood correctly, said she would let him know what my plans were then she walked inside. I thanked her again then went back into my dorm room, bewildered by what just happened. He didn't smell of alcohol but I have no idea what would've done that to him.
I don't want to indirectly kill anyone while I'm here. D:

You have NO idea.
NO idea.
NONE.
How difficult it is for me to not blow money on shopping here.
EVERYTHING is ADORABLE.
I am remaining vigilant, but aaaaaargh. I walked around Stella Place yesterday and I could have spent every dime I have right there.
So far I've only bought food, drinks, and subway tickets.
:'(

PIctures/video to come later. Mike and I didn't get a whole lot of photos during the weekend.
1) Japanese subways are ridiculously efficient.
2) Most of the important signs here are in English as well, as all the subway information.
3) Ramen Alley is amazing, and real honest to god ramen warms your heart and soul.
4) The bathrooms are insanely tiny.
5) People here are ridiculously polite.
